A crucial stage in Scotland’s political history begins as members of the Scottish National Party (SNP) begin voting on March 13 to select a new Prime Minister after the resignation of Nicola Sturgeon.

Humza Yousaf, currently serving as the Scottish Health Secretary, is up against Kate Forbes, a devout Christian and the country’s current Finance Secretary, as well as Ash Regan, a former junior minister who quit the government to protest against the party’s plans to scrap gender recognition certificates.
